Engineer’s Assistant™ software
develops statistical models about the performance of the car around
it’s optimal configuration. The purpose is to model the unmeasured
properties of the car-driver-track system and add these to the
measured properties and develop feed-forward responses to changing
ambient conditions and other uncontrolled factors. Engineer’s
Assistant requires laps run under varying conditions to develop the
models. This is best done with a simulation that closely
approximates the results obtained on the track. When the
statistical models have all the information they can use from the
simulation, track runs are begun to learn where the actual observed
results differ from the theoretical, what the causes may be, and
what to do to improve the performance. |
