Engineer's
Clipboard™ allows the race engineer to capture the set-up
and pit lane parameters and driver comments in a computerized
database which is coupled to the sessions, outings and laps run.
Connections are provided to the PI telemetry system to
automatically provide end-of-lap information. Once the settings and
lap results are captured in the same database, analysis of
cause-and-effect can be performed. Printed reports are provided to
approximate the traditional engineer’s clipboard notes with the
exception that the laps are opened up if more notes are made than
will fit in the natural space. Not only does the system provide the
possibility to relate inputs and outputs, but the collection of
comments and changes is optimized for use on a pen computer and if
the computer is part of a LAN, the data is available to any
computer with access to the database.
